Could be the best zoo in the World?
Melbourne Zoo could possibly lay claim to having some of the finest animal enclosures that I have seen. It has created environments where you are able to view from a number of angles and perspectives as well as be imersed in the exhibit. The quantity and quality of the animals in the exhibits is also impresive. I was amazed how many elephants and gorillas there were just to name a few. My personal favourite was the monkey enclosures where you walked across a boardwalk at mid tree level so you were on a level viewing level with the animals. The meerkat exhibit was not only an excellent area but the inclusion of interactive playareas that replicated the meerkats habitat was great for the kids to play in.
