There is no lack of sights and activities in this area of New York City with some of the most iconic attractions in the United States located here. Just off of Manhattan Island are the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. These are 2 attractions that are just about on all tourists must see lists. Back on Manhattan Island is the World Trade Center Site and 9/11 Memorial. This site continues to evolve and be redeveloped since the terrorist attack on September 11 2001 and includes a museum on the event. Other major attractions include City Hall, the Brooklyn Bridge and the South Street Seaport.
No trip to the Lower Manhattan area in New York would be complete without a trip along Wall Street, the location of many of the New York’s and the World’s company and financial headquarters and offices. It is also the location of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York & the New York Stock Exchange. Amongst the skyscrapers you will also find numerous architectural gems dating across various architectural periods and styles. None more fancy than the Trinity Church that can be found at the head of Wall Street.
