Fishermans Wharf

Fisherman’s Wharf is a touristy area located on the San Francisco harbor front. The area was once the centre of the regions waterfront industries and over the years the wharfs have transformed from fishing industries and shipping to pier side restaurants, museums and hotels as well as a base for many water and city tours.

One of the many attractions in Fisherman’s Wharf area are the sea lions that bask themselves on the pontoons that dot the water around the piers. You can get a great view of these from the many restaurants around the area.

Pier 39 is a central tourist point in the area and houses a large range of dining venues, attractions and shopping outlets. Amongst the attractions is the Aquarium of the Bay and dining includes San Francisco’s Hard Rock Café and Bubba Gumps.

There is plenty of accommodation options available in the Fisherman’s Wharf area making it a great location to base a San Francisco holiday. Most of the major chains have properties here including Hyatt, Hilton, Sheraton and Radisson.
