The area around Renmark and Paringa is dominated by blocks of various fruits, nuts and vegetables. Unlike some of the other Riverland areas, Renmark is extremely diverse in its crops and is a large producer of grapes, citrus, stone fruit and nuts, particularly almonds. Along the major arterial road’s, you will find numerous road side stalls selling fresh, beautiful seasonal produce. Renmark is also recognised as the first irrigation town in the World.
Renmark’s riverfront is regarded as one of the most picturesque of all of the Murray River towns with large areas of green parklands spread out along its banks. It also has 2 holiday parks located right on the Murray River providing easy access for boating and other water activities.
Most of the focus of the area is on the Murray River and the PS Industry paddle steamer is a town attraction, moored at the towns Visitor Information centre and cruising regularly. The Renmark area is also well known for its roses with the numerous garden beds dressing up the town centre and the region hosting an annual Rose Festival.
