Darling Harbour is one of the premier tourist districts in Sydney and has a raft of world class attractions to cater for a broad range of tastes. The area borders on the Sydney City Centre and sits around Cockle Bay where a large number of the attractions lie.
On the eastern side of Cockle Bay sits the Cockle Bay Wharf which has developed into a spectacular entertainment area with a number of major attractions. This includes the Sydney Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, Wild Life Sydney and the Sydney Sea Life Aquarium.
You can get your cultural fix at 2 of Sydney’s major museums, the Australian Maritime Museum and the Powerhouse Museum or if shopping is your caper you’ll find plenty of opportunities to spend your money at the Harbourside Shopping Complex.
The Darling Harbour area is rich with entertainment options and the Star Casino is regarded as one of the country’s best. Within the Star Casino complex is the Sydney Lyric Theatre which hosts regular Broadway productions and the Star Event Centre where you will find regular concerts, comedy shows and gala events. Situated at the bottom of Cockle Bay is the IMAX Theatre Sydney which is home to the largest screen in the southern hemisphere and shows the latest hit movies.
